The Corporate and Volunteer Engagement Manager is responsible for corporate fundraising through cultivation of key corporate decision makers, maintenance of existing relationships with corporate partners, and writing proposals and progress reports. In addition, the Corporate and Volunteer Engagement Manager leads the relationships and logistics associated with implementing Italian Home's volunteer opportunities. The Manager is integral to the growth and concept creation of volunteer engagement activities that align identified needs of the organization with the skills and interests of our volunteers. The best candidate for the position will have a passion for our mission, strong emotional intelligence, excellent writing and interpersonal skills, corporate connections, project planning experience, and an entrepreneurial, energetic, and positive spirit. The Manager is responsible for research, cultivation, and writing of corporate proposals. The Manager will work closely with program leaders to discover and inquire about volunteer and funding needs then articulate the need and impact in a compelling and sophisticated manner, ensuring integrity in all writing and budget composition.
This position reports to the Vice President of Agency Advancement, is full time exempt, and includes evenings and weekends when dictated by corporate availability.

- Establish close corporate relationships with decision makers in social impact departments; Foster a sense of belonging and closeness to the organization's mission
- Research corporation's interests and giving histories and develop a strategic plan and yearly calendar
- Develop written and verbal proposals complete with deliverable outcomes and budgets
- Submit progress and final reports for all corporate grants
- Develop tracking system for existing grants
- Collaborate with program staff to monitor each funded program to ensure it is meeting grant conditions, schedule, and expectations
- Partner with program staff to gather case studies, stories, and data to share with corporate partners
- Establish revenue goals with VP then monitor success and adjust plans as needed
- Create a year-long calendar of opportunities and recruit volunteers
- Introduce CEO to any potential individual major donors engaged with IHC through corporate volunteer or event opportunities
- Solicit all corporate partners for event sponsorships
- Track all volunteer hours as in kind donations, inquire if the corporation donates a match for volunteer hours
- Establish corporate donations and volunteerism policies that align with best practices
- Continuously improve content regarding volunteer and corporate engagement section of IHC website
- Serve as an ambassador and spokesperson for the organization and articulate our mission to external constituents; ensure brand compliance on all communications
- Pursue repeat corporate volunteer groups to deepen relationship over time
- Arrange for onsite tours for corporate partners
- Maintain current records in database
- Submit acknowledgement thank you letters or tax documents
ESSENTIAL qualifications - Minimum 2 years of directly related experience, preferably in a development department of a nonprofit and/or human services organization
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Past experience representing an organization to external audiences
- Demonstrated fundraising success
- Proven track record of developing successful partnerships with other companies
- Creative, independent, and strategic thinker
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database management
- Strong emotional intelligence
- Ability to analyze and organize data efficiently with attention to detail and accuracy is required
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Excellent oral communication, interpersonal, and writing skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Commitment to confidentiality in all matters related to Italian Home for Children business, development, and fundraising practices
- Ability to function in a team environment
- Demonstrate sensitivity and appreciation for diverse viewpoints and different communication styles in a politically and culturally diverse environment
- Flexible thinking and willingness to support other people and projects
- Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. (event supplies).
