Job Description
Overview:
Master Plumbing & Heating supports residential and commercial clients in preventative maintenance, installation, and repair services for plumbing, heating ventilation, air conditioning, and control (HVAC) systems. Under the direction of the CEO, the Estimator will assist in assessing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and ensuring the smooth execution of projects.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate project specifications, drawings, and other documents to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project objectives and timelines.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for plumbing and HVAC projects, including labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and overhead expenses.
Utilize industry-standard software and tools to accurately estimate project costs.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services.
Analyze project risks and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
Present cost estimates to clients and address any inquiries or concerns.
Assist in the preparation of project proposals and bid documents.
Monitor project budgets and costs throughout the project lifecycle, providing updates as needed.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Journeyman Plumber License or equivalent field experience in plumbing and HVAC.
Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry, preferably at least 5 years in plumbing and HVAC.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience with project management software.
Knowledge of local building regulations and permit processes.
Previous experience working in a similar role in the plumbing and HVAC industry.
Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to build rapport with clients and vendors.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive working environment.
